Patrick Ewing, Alonzo Mourning, Dikembe Mutombo. Add Greg Monroe to your list of Georgetown centers to be drafted into the National Basketball Association.
Monroe, who has had a solid colligate career, is now a member of our Detroit Pistons. Joe Dumars hit a home run in selecting Monroe. He gets the most developed center in the draft, and a guy who will be a franchise big man for years to come. In the next year or two, Ben Wallace will be gone and Greg Monroe will start his career which will be filled with great years.
WXYZ-TV is reporting that Pistons forward Charlie Villanueva is being charged with domestic assault following an incident on May 19 in Burlington, Ontario.
The 25-year-old Villanueva was released by Halton Regional
Police on a promise to appear in court on July 9. The name of
complainant and other details about the incident weren’t available
His lawyer, Owen Wigderson, says Villanueva, “denies all
allegations of wrongdoing
I’m guilty of it.

We watch our Tigers every night, but we do it with one eye often straying in a different direction…towards the out of town scoreboard. What’s the Twins score? What’s the White Sox score? Hey, does anyone know who’s pitching against Minnesota tomorrow?
And that’s okay…to a degree.
I got a text message from my friend following Miguel Cabrera’s strikeout to end the game against Arizona last Saturday. It said, and I’m paraphrasing because he was a tad bit more coarse, “screw Cabrera, this is a 5th place team in a .500 division.”
While I was disappointed as well, it highlighted something that has been occurring to me lately: Mo’ is fickle, my friends.
