Tigers win, Guillen to DL

Justin Verlander labored, to say the least, through his five innings tonight en route to a 5-4 Detroit Tigers victory over the Los Angeles Angels.

The biggest news tonight was an injury to Carlos Guillen.  Rounding third base, Guillen took a look back to find the ball and inexplicably tripped, fell and was ultimately tagged out.  Dave Dombrowski confirmed at left hamstring strain, which will send Guillen to the 15-day disabled list.

The Tigers have called Brennan Boesch up to the big leagues in lieu of Guillen’s absence.
