Conventional wisdom? The Rams take QB Sam Bradford, the Lions take DT Ndamukong Suh, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers take DT Gerald McCoy. That said, nothing is certain.
The 75th annual NFL Draft is less than 24 hours away from being aired for the first time in prime time. Unlike seasons past, this year’s draft is full of suspense.
This time last year, Matthew Stafford had already agreed to terms with the Detroit Lions to be the number one overall pick. This year, the St. Louis Rams have been tight at the lip about their plans for the first pick. Conventional wisdom may not hold true, as the Rams have traded one of their interior defensive lineman, Adam Carriker. They have also shown no indication of negotiating with Sam Bradford. By that same token, they haven’t appeared to negotiated with Suh, either.
Should the rumors be true that Albert Haynesworth is available, perhaps the Lions will seek an offensive tackle with the number two pick.
It remains the belief of this writer that the Rams will draft Bradford and the Lions will select Suh. That said, drama will en-Suh tomorrow night.
