It’s official. Kalin Lucas will miss the rest of the tournament as he was diagnosed with a ruptured Achilles tendon in his left foot. Lucas will miss 4-6 months, however, the injury is not as bad as it could have been. Apparently, according to Tom Izzo as told by Doctors, the rupture is “higher up” on the Achilles, which generally is considered better for long term recovery. That is perhaps the only good news to come out of this situation. The Junior point guard was the heart and sole of a Michigan State basketball team coming off an emotional win over 4-seed Maryland.
Lucas lead the Spartans in points, assists, minutes, field goals, and field goal attempts. He will travel to St. Louis to watch his teammates take on cinderella Northern Iowa in the sweet sixteen of the 2010 NCAA tournament.
We would like to wish Kalin a speedy recovery from all of us at THB and its readers.
