Breaking: Joe Nathan Officially Out for 2010 Season

Minnesota Twins closer Joe Nathan will miss the 2010 season because of a right elbow injury.  The injury requires surgery.

Nathan planned to take 2 weeks to rest his elbow and then try to throw again.  After throwing with pitching coach Rick Anderson today, Nathan said after 10 minutes he knew he couldn’t throw in that condition.

Nathan will have Tommy John surgery “within two weeks,” according to ESPN.
